Jennia Herold D'Lima

Editing by Jennia

I offer professional, personalized, and in-depth editing services for fiction and creative non-fiction, with extensive experience editing YA and adult manuscripts across a variety of genres. Many of the most recently published manuscripts I worked on have been nominated for or won awards (some of them more than one!). Others have been praised by Kirkus Reviews, hit the top 100 in multiple Amazon categories, and sold out on their release days.

My editing philosophy summarized in one word would be “partnership.” I will treat you and your manuscript respectfully, communicate as often as needed (and encourage you to do the same!), and ask questions throughout the process to ensure we’re on the same page.

For me, this is more than a job. Editing, publishing, and books, in general, are truly my passion. An early-in-life love of classic literature may have been the catalyst for turning me into a full-blown logophile. In ninth grade, I joined my high school’s newspaper, winning statewide awards for my writing, and expanded my journalism skills by continuing to write and edit throughout my high school years and as a college freshman. While earning my BA in psychology (and minoring in cultural anthropology with a focus on pre-colonial Mesoamerica) and MA in Applied Developmental Psychology, my writing and editing naturally skewed toward all things academic. Writing for and publishing in peer-reviewed journals, editing papers for classmates, and writing parenting resource guides honed my research skills.
