I’ve been in the publishing business for 24 years and have worked with publishers, book packagers, and individual authors. I’m experienced and comfortable with both fiction and nonfiction. One of the most interesting experiences I’ve had is working on former ambassador Joseph Wilson’s book The Politics of Truth and meeting him in person at Book Expo in Los Angeles. I also copyedited actress Rose Marie’s biography, a coffee-table book about the Barrymore family, and hundreds of books on a wide range of topics, including film studies, music studies, gender studies, cultural studies, political science, military history, literary criticism, and health and wellness.
My client list includes New York publishers Perseus Books Group, Bloomsbury USA, Carroll & Graf, Thunder’s Mouth Press, Marlowe & Company, and Nation Books, as well as Penguin Random House, Basic Books, Pegasus Books, The Experiment, Henry Holt Books for Young Readers, Sourcebooks, Haymarket Books, and the U.S. Naval Institute Press. My academic press clients include Brookings Institution Press, Harvard Education Press, Indiana University Press, University of Illinois Press, Cornell University Press, University of Michigan Press, Princeton University Press, Stanford University Press, and Wayne State University Press among others.
My non-publishing background includes marketing and teaching, which means I have a number of relevant skills to contribute. Every project is a new learning experience, and I enjoy working directly with authors. I also love the variety of subjects and information I have encountered in my years of copyediting.
