Joshua Manson

I have more than seven years of editorial experience collaborating with authors, academics, researchers, and storytellers across media to create prose that is compelling, concise, and authentic. I specialize in texts designed to make an impact on policy, discourse, or contemporary thought, but am comfortable editing academic, exploratory, creative, and critical writing as well. My areas of expertise are politics, philosophy, law, sociology, and psychology. I offer developmental editing, line editing, copy editing, and review for substance, structure, and style.

In addition to my own freelance writing, I have worked with advocacy and non-profit organizations including the American Civil Liberties Union, the Center for Constitutional Rights, Solitary Watch, and PEN America to write and edit original reports, blog posts, articles, and op-eds. I have also edited book manuscripts on artificial intelligence, LGBT politics, and continental philosophy, among other topics, and have ghostwritten numerous op-eds in national publications.

When not writing or editing, I’m most likely hiking, making pottery, or otherwise out in the sun.
