I help authors who dream of a life spent telling stories that matter slay their doubt demons so that they can send their work out into the world with confidence.

Since I first picked up THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE when I was in elementary school, I have been fascinated by story. Once sneaking into peoples’ closets looking for Narnia was no longer acceptable, I turned to my own creative work. Since graduating with an MS in Communication Management in 2001, I have written and edited for businesses, non-profits, and individuals across a variety of sectors from high tech to newspaper to publishing. My work with SCBWI and Pitch Wars keeps my industry knowledge current and sharp. And my love of the written word translates into all that I do. As a coach and editor, I have worked with authors published by Big Five, small/university, and hybrid presses as well as writers who indie publish. My colleagues call me the query wizard because I love helping clients formulate their query strategy whether they’re looking for an agent or an editor. I specialize in middle grade (MG), young adult (YA), memoir, and adult speculative fiction, and particularly love the intersection of social- and environmental-justice and speculative writing.
