Developmental editor of fiction. Writing coach. Copywriter. Fiction writer.
I’m a developmental editor specializing in fiction and memoir. I’ve worked on science fiction, fantasy, horror, literary, crime/thriller, and romance. I offer opening chapters edits as well as full novel edits. Part of my work includes coaching newer writers on how to rewrite their novels or increase their skill set. I’m based in Scotland but have primarily worked with American authors.
I began training as a developmental editor in early 2018 after decades of giving feedback in various writing groups. I’ve completed several courses in developmental editing – from the Author-Editor Clinic, the Editorial Freelancers Association, and Liminal Pages. I’ve also taken courses at Club Ed, the UK’s Publishing Training Centre, and the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
I achieved a distinction in copywriting for publishers from the Publishing Training Centre. I also trained in direct marketing via the San Francisco School of Copywriting. And I completed courses with copywriters Alex Cattoni and Ash Ambirge.
