Karyn O'Connor

Creative Copy & Editing

My name is Karyn O’Connor, and I’m the owner of Creative Copy & Editing, an emerging copywriting and editing service that aims to help businesses and authors enhance and elevate their writing while remaining true to their branding and authorial voice and style.

I’m an American Writers & Artists Institute trained copywriter with professional freelance copywriting, editing, and proofreading experience. I have copywritten and copyedited website content (articles, sales copy, email sequences, etc.), B2B communication, and product descriptions for Amazon’s marketplace. I am familiar with both The Chicago Manual of Style and The Associated Press Stylebook.

I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Publishing degree from Rosemont College, where I’ve achieved the highest grade in my Mechanics of Editing class, which demands precise proofreading and copyediting skills demonstrated in a variety of tasks.

I’m also an independent (self-employed) teacher of English Language Arts and French. I teach grammar, spelling, and writing skills at the middle school, high school, and adult levels.

In addition to online content, I’m available to line edit, copyedit, and proofread nonfiction and fiction book manuscripts. I write, read, and enjoy a variety of genres and have a particular interest in Arts, psychology, self-help, political, how-to, and creative nonfiction, as well as children’s, YA, women’s, and literary fiction.

My attention to detail, critical eye, excellent understanding of grammar and sentence structure, and endless fascination with written language make me a member that you will want on your team. I’ll work tirelessly to tighten, polish, and elevate your writing to the highest possible level because I believe that stellar writing and clear communication of your ideas matter.
