Kate Becker specializes in short stories and making memoirs read like short stories. She is the Publisher/Managing Editor of Grande Dame Literary Journal. GDLJ is an online journal for women writers. As a short story writer, she understands the craft of weaving a good tale. With over twenty-five years of experience in editing, marketing communications, non-profit communications, and fiction writing, her skills are honed for working with writers at various stages of the story process.

Education: MS PR/Communications (NYU), Certificate in Fundraising (NYU Heyman Center). She is a member of the Women’s Fiction Writers Association, Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance. Sisters in Crime, and Maine Romance Writers. For her post-graduated writing training, she has attended workshops at Sarah Lawrence Writing Institute, Fairfield University, and Westport Writers Workshop.

She has published short story collections and is at work on her second novel.
