Katherine L. Bryant

I have more than 25 years of editorial experience, primarily in K-12 educational publishing (including social studies, history, math, and science). Most recently I acquired and developed professional titles for math and science teachers at Heinemann; before that I worked on textbooks at the elementary and middle school levels as well as associated ancillary materials (such as teacher’s editions, assessment question banks, science lab instructions, and workbooks).

I’m also an experienced puzzler, and have done professional work proofreading crossword puzzles and researching and writing materials for trivia quizzes. I also have an interest in role-playing games and have edited and proofread rulebooks for them. I’m an experienced amateur genealogist with an interest in family histories, and an avid cook and baker with a love for cookbooks and recipes.

Most recently I worked as a taxonomist supporting machine learning projects, work that required translating technical requirements into guidelines for annotation to be used by non-native English readers as well as engineering teams.

I am open to research, writing, line and developmental editing, copy editing, and fact-checking work in all fields.
