Khelsea Purvis

Hi there! My name is Khelsea.

I help creative minds breathe life into their stories.

I specialize in manuscript critiques and developmental edits that help a story shine its brightest for readers to enjoy.

My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in professional writing. I bring a combination of editorial freelancing experience and traditional publishing knowledge to every project. As an editorial assistant at Simon & Schuster, I learned the ins and outs of the publishing process and discovered my potential for bringing stories to life. In addition to being listed as a Featured Editor in How to Self-Publish a Children’s Book by Yvonne Jones, I’ve guided several self-published authors through the publishing process.

“Khelsea was such a treasure to find when writing my first children’s book. My book was written in rhyme, and Khelsea was so helpful in making sure the rhymes flowed perfectly. Khelsea guided me on the story structure, line editing, and proofreading. Her suggestions were so valuable, and she offered such great advice. She helped turn my story into a multi-award-winning book! Khelsea was quick to answer any questions I had and always met the deadlines. She’s professional, friendly, and an expert at what she does. When it came time to have my second and third books edited, there was no question that I wanted Khelsea to work on them. She has treated each of my books like her own, and I’m extremely grateful to have met her. Thank you, Khelsea, and I’m looking forward to working together again soon!” —Nicole MacDonald, author of the Dash series
