Lacey Braziel Edits

Hello! I am an editor specializing in romance. I am interested and experienced in contemporary (new adult+, romcom, romantic suspense), historical (medieval Europe through Regency England and the American Civil War) and paranormal/fantasy novels—sweet to spicy. My current favorite genre is cozy. I’ve worked on a cozy fantasy and a cozy mystery most recently, but romantic comedy is my first love.

I offer manuscript critiques, developmental editing, line editing, and copyediting. I’ve partnered with Weaver Way Author Services to provide authors a comprehensive editing experience including alpha reading, beta reading, formatting, and proofreading. Please check out our packages on my website.

TESTIMONIAL:
“I’ve truly enjoyed every step. The level of organization and compassion goes above and beyond what I was expecting. This was no simple task that was undertaken by a faceless person behind a screen. This was an experience every author deserves! Access through FaceTime, email, or social media to help me with whatever issues I was facing, be it with my manuscript or even the story itself! Lacey is a one of a kind human and an exceptional editor. I wish the writing community had dozens just like her.”

I pride myself on being accessible, personable, and professional. I want your manuscript to be the best it can be. I meticulously go through the entire document to ensure that your manuscript is polished and ready for the next step. When you work with me, you have someone in your corner throughout the entire publishing process. My rates are competitive with those of other editors. I understand the value of an investment, and I offer a variety of payment plans. I offer a free sample edit of 1,000 words on manuscripts over 30,000 words. Please visit my website for testimonials and contact me for a free quote.

I use the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition and Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, 11th edition to suggest edits. I accept manuscripts through Microsoft Word and Google Docs. I’ll use the Track Changes in Word and Suggesting Mode in Google Docs and use the comments feature in each to suggest edits.

I use Honeybook to assist in client management, including statements of work, invoicing and payments. You will be able to pay directly from your bank account through the secure features. No app download required. Please message me through the EFA or via my website contact form.

I look forward to working with you so your story can be heard.
