Laura Town

WilliamsTown Communications is a full service company that provides instructional design, writing, editing, and project management for educational products. Clients include University of Pennsylvania, California State University-San Marcos, and Sage Publishing.

Instructional Design:

WTC’s team includes a certified instructional designer who can work with existing content or third-party subject matter experts to create an interactive online course. We can provide suggestions for content and presentation, design activities and interactive elements, and develop assessments. The final result is an engaging course that leads to subject mastery.

Writing:

WTC has a team of in-house writers with advanced degrees and collegiate teaching experience in the areas of science and medical/nursing. Writers also have knowledge in a broad range of additional topics such as education, management, leadership, finance, and more.

In creating educational content, we use source documents to write narration scripts and on-screen content for online courses. Our writers and designers then take this content and bring it to life through the use of Articulate Storyline or Rise. The scope of work includes organizing content, writing scripts, adding design elements, incorporating client suggestions, and providing a final copyedit and proofread. Courses created in Storyline or Rise can then be integrated into your LMS.

Our team of expert assessment writers can develop questions for your course based on the desired Bloom’s level. For example, questions can be simple knowledge checks, more complex application or analysis questions, or in-depth case studies with situational judgment questions.

WTC can also help with the creation of supplemental course documents such as syllabi, lesson plans, and worksheets.

Editing:

WTC provides a full scope of editing services, with an emphasis on developmental editing. Previous editing projects range from elementary engineering courses to graduate level dissertations to continuing education courses for nurses, so we have the expertise to edit your educational documents!

Developmental editing includes reviewing your document and providing suggestions for enhanced content, organization, style, and flow. If needed, we will also check for issues related to formatting and correct simple errors.

Project Management:

WTC has the expertise to manage your project, large or small. Previous projects range from small projects with only a few people and documents to large projects with dozens of contributors and hundreds of documents.
