Leanne Phillips is a writer, book coach, and editor specializing in creative work, including literary fiction, women’s fiction, science fiction, young adult fiction, the legal, crime, and thriller genres, memoir, and essays.

Leanne earned an MFA in Creative Writing and Writing for the Performing Arts from the University of California at Riverside, Palm Desert. She earned a BA in English, with an emphasis in creative writing and a minor in history, from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, book coaching certification from Author Accelerator, and a Copyediting Certificate from the University of California at San Diego. Leanne’s undergraduate English literature studies included women’s fiction, the fiction of fallen women, text-image interaction in literature, and the novels of Jane Austen. Her history minor research included the history of science fiction, the history of South America, and the history of witch hunts.

Leanne is a member of ACES, EFA, SD/PEN, and SLO NightWriters. In addition to her work with individual writers, Leanne is a Fiction Editor for Kelp Journal.
