The Book Owl

When you’re looking for an editor, you want someone you can trust to appreciate your manuscript. You want someone who has more than the skills to edit and polish it–you need an editor who will honor the depths of your soul from which the book came.

I may be that editor for you. I am The Book Owl!

What can I offer you?

I am an editor with experience in line and copyediting, fact-checking, proofreading, and researching. My genre interests are as follows:
  • Nonfiction: Psychology, Pagan History, New Age, Biology, Modern and Ancient Technology, Archaeology, Self Help, Sexual Education, BDSM Lifestyle, Paranormal, and Historical Research.
  • Fiction: Science Fiction/Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Psychological Thrillers, Mystery, and Erotica.
I am relatively new to working as a freelance typesetter, therefore my rates are typically below industry standard rates. I offer sample edits for $25, which eventually gets added to your invoice should you sign an agreement. I want to make sure you’re confident in my work. If you’re a fellow editor who refers a client, I will offer a 10% fee upon completion of the project.

What are your rates?

Very good question. I have rates that are based on various different services and packages on my website. You may need heavy copyediting for your manuscript, but you picked basic copyediting. You may need a proofreader who can also research and fact check at the same time. I offer discounts for multiple services. I advertise promotions for new or recurring clients. When you contact me, we’ll discuss your budget, your manuscript, and what you’re looking for in an editor. Once you’re ready, you can send me a four-page sample from your manuscript so that I can confirm what you’ll need from me.

Did I get your attention? Good, that’s my job. Contact me so we can further discuss your manuscript and how I can best help you!
