Linda Ruggeri

The Insightful Editor

Hi! My name is Linda and I’m a nonfiction editor who works with English, Spanish, and Italian publishing projects. I’m a full-service editor skilled in all facets of publishing, including writing,  developmental editing, line editing, copyediting, manuscript styling, and author coaching. My job is to help you accomplish your publishing goals in a planned and organized manner, so you and your projects can be successful.

I have a passion for solving manuscript challenges in a timely manner and within budget, and I enjoy working both on my own as well as with editorial teams.

My specialty is non-fiction, and I’m passionate about memoirs, biographies, and how-to books. I work mostly on the topics of personal and professional development, travel, photography, cooking, gardening, and history. Many publishers will also hire me to review the translations of their books or manuals into Spanish or to edit books originally in Spanish or Italian that have been translated into English.

When I’m not editing, I’m happily writing. In 2022 I won the 2022 Benjamin Franklin Silver Medal Award for Networking for Freelance Editors which I co-authored with fellow editor and EFA member Brittany Dowdle.

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Argentina (where I studied Journalism at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba), I completed my education with a Communication and Fine Arts degree from Loyola Marymount University (Cum Laude) in Los Angeles. I’m an avid reader, traveler, baker and cook, and I love to guide new writers in their publishing journey.

You can learn more about my work and editing packages at The Insightful Editor.

I volunteer for the EFA as the director of the EFA Diversity Initiative Welcome Program.  When I’m not editing, you’ll find me in my vegetable garden, or sharing tips, tricks, and my harvest with other local gardeners.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions you might have. I offer free thirty-minute consultations through my website and would love to discuss your project!
