Lorraine Wadman
As a former teacher and current textbook editor, I provide professional copy editing and proofreading of instructional materials for teachers and for students in grades K-12, including student worksheets, teacher manuals, and assessment materials. My degree is in Elementary Education with a minor in English. I currently tutor elementary and secondary students in mathematics and reading.
One of my recent projects required substantive editing and proofreading for both the teacher and student editions of fifth- and sixth-grade mathematics, published by Purposeful Design. The work was deadline-driven, highly detailed, and required me to solve every problem in order to check the accuracy of the answer keys. In another recent assignment, I wrote and edited assessment exercises in the Learnosity platform. I have edited two children’s books.
I am familiar with CCSS standards, ELL standards, and Core Knowledge. My skills include Microsoft Word, Adobe InDesign, InCopy, and LaTeX. I am proficient in The Chicago Manual of Style.
