I have been involved with a wide variety of editorial projects, both in terms of subject matter and type of editing and/or writing, from writing and editing material for the K-12 school market to ghost writing a full-length non-fiction book in the adult trade market (Jan. 09 publication). I’ve even edited some fiction.
Every new undertaking brings new challenges, and a good part of what I enjoy as a freelancer is sinking my teeth into new projects. I always learn something in the process of creating an end-product that is polished, professional, and accessible for the target reader. To accomplish this, a combination of factors need to be in play: correct facts and documentation, logical progression of ideas, correct and appropriate use of language, and interesting presentation. My experience has touched on all of these aspects, giving me a broad overview of how the pieces fit together in the final product.
Communicating ideas, whatever my role in their development, is the foundation of the process and I welcome new opportunities to participate in achieving this.
