Maria Tattaris

I have a BSc and MSc in Mathematics, and a PhD relating to atmospheric science, therefore I have a strong quantitative background that can be used for applied sciences.

I have extensive experience in academic reading and writing, developed from both my MSc and PhD, and continued during my professional career working at an international research centre (International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center, CIMMYT) as a post-doctoral researcher and associate scientist.

Throughout my academic and profession career, I have had to pass down knowledge to others. In addition, I was a teaching assistant during my  for MSc and BSc students, therefore I feel confident in writing to help others learn. Also, English is my native language, I have complete command in terms of grammar, vocabulary and colloquialisms.

I have experience editing academic and non-academic text from non-native English speakers, particularly from the countries of China, Korea and India. Also I have had years of experience collaborating with non-native English speakers during my time working at an international research centre as well as during my PhD.

I have very strong quantitative skills; data analysis and data interpretation are not a problem for me. I can choose what type of analysis is needed for different data types and research questions, and can be creative with methodologies, for example I can use GIS applications for spatial analysis and data visualization.
