Meghan Stoll Editing

Freelance book editor. My job is to help you make your manuscript the best it can be. I’m committed to perfecting your writing while preserving your unique style, voice, and message.
I have worked in-house at a traditional publishing company, as a proofreader at a national healthcare company, as a ghostwriter for an entrepreneurial book writing company, as a web content writer for a local bed and breakfast… the list goes on. Since 2016, I have focused on book manuscripts.
I love to collaborate with independent authors one-on-one on their passion projects. I specialize in nonfiction (personal/career development, spirituality/religion, memoir) and YA/adult fiction (literary and women’s fiction, thriller, fantasy). My services include developmental editing, line editing, and copy editing. Please see my website for descriptions of these services.
Depending on the type of edit, I will look at anything from plot/character development and overall goals of the book, to language style, to fact checking, to minute issues of grammar and spelling.
I dedicate myself to my clients’ projects with the care that they themselves have been putting into them since day one. Whether you’re having trouble transferring your book from your brain to the page or almost ready to submit it for publication, I can help you put your best foot forward. Writing and editing are my passions and beautiful, concise prose my goal.
When I’m not working, I’m hiking  in the beautiful North Carolina wilderness with my family, writing a short story, or reading a good book in the sunshine. Feel free to contact me with queries or to learn more about my qualifications and interests.
