Write This, Edit That

Hi!

I am a nonfiction line and copy editor and proofreader who helps ensure authors have the support they need for making their manuscripts the absolute best they can be. I apply my knowledge and skills to polish manuscripts and turn writers into authors. Editing is in my blood and I am a true grammar geek. I have a sharp eye, a meticulous nature, and a true passion for helping people with their writing.

With a certificate in copyediting from UCSD and a master’s degree in English, my knowledge and skills are comprehensive and current. My experience includes both print and nonprint versions of books, articles, academic and research papers, and online content. I have been writing, editing, and proofreading for many years and have since turned my love for editing into a business. My specialty is nonfiction, and my areas of expertise include memoir, self-help, personal transformation, relationships, mental health, spirituality, and business.

My role is to support authors in producing a manuscript they are proud of. I bring a fresh and objective pair of eyes to all projects and offer suggestions and solutions that will make your manuscript shine. Copyediting is about more than simply fixing errors in grammar, spelling, construction, and accuracy; it is about strengthening an author’s voice and advocating for the reader. I aim for clarity, consistency, coherency, and correctness while always maintaining authors’ perspectives and preferences. My clients tell me that I am reliable, enthusiastic, communicative, intuitive, and insightful, that I always go the extra mile, and that I always meet or exceed deadlines.

The “rules” of language, grammar, and usage are complex and ever-changing. It is my job to know and understand them so you don’t have to. I am not only proficient in English language and grammar but am fascinated by them. Let me put that to work for your benefit.

I customize each project according to the author’s needs and preferences. If interested, please email me with the main topic of your manuscript, its current word count, the type of editing you are looking for, when you are looking to get started, and your approximate budget.

I hope to get a chance to work with you soon.
