Neha Potalia
Hello! I am a freelance writer, editor and screenwriter with more than 20 years experience. I first began copy editing and proofreading my college professor Dad’s research papers as a young child. I didn’t know much about soil science or agriculture but I still excitedly marked up the spelling and grammatical errors that I found.
Many years later, I went on to complete a BA in Communications (Writing and Cultural Studies) from the University of Technology, Sydney.
More recently I have worked in advertising and with Hollywood studios to help a variety of brands and entertainment properties achieve their objectives using engaging and entertaining copy and editorial strategy to cut through the noise online. I have also previously worked as the music editor of Vogue Australia, and have written humor pieces and personal essays for such places as The New Yorker’s ‘Shouts and Murmurs’ and december magazine.
I enjoy continually expanding my skills as they relate to writing and editing taking craft seminars with Sheila Heti, Alexander Chee, R.O. Kwon, Madeleine Watts, Fatima Bhutto and more.
I especially enjoy working with manuscripts, personal essays and screenplays. I look forward to helping to shape your wonderful work to become the best possible version of itself.
