Noella Handley

I’m here to help your writing take flight.

I specialize in speculative fiction (fantasy, science fiction, etc.), academic work in the humanities and social sciences, and tabletop roleplay games.

Writing can be difficult, lonely work. With so many demands on your time, it can be hard to get manuscripts publication-ready. I will support you by providing editorial services such as developmental editing, copyediting, and proofreading to help polish your manuscript.

I am a trained editor and earned my certificate in Copyediting from the University of California at San Diego Extension. I also have an MA in Linguistics from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and BAs in History and Linguistics from The College of William & Mary. Not only did I gain experience in writing, but also how to edit and revise my writing and that of other students. In addition to being a lifelong fan of speculative fiction, I also attended the Alpha Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Writing Workshop for Young Writers twice as a student.

Testimonials

“Noella’s sharp-eyed last-minute copyedit gave my fantasy manuscript the final polish it needed. They’re incredibly detail-oriented, and caught a number of subtle grammatical hiccups that had slipped past multiple prior rounds of revision. They also have a good ear for sentence flow, and they helped fine-tune some of the dialogue and narration so that the prose flowed smoothly. I highly recommend Wild Hawk Editing!”
