Oona Zoya Cava

I am a versatile professional with over a decade of experience and a comprehensive skill set that includes ghostwriting, developmental editing, proofreading, and freelance writing.

My work includes writing and editing for scholars across multiple disciplines, business content creation, copyediting for print and digital magazines, writing book reviews, and editing (from book coaching to developmental and line editing) for many freelance clients.

As a neurodivergent person, I am passionate about supporting other neurodivergent professionals, leveraging my neurodivergence to ensure flexible and successful writing partnerships that meet each client’s unique needs while balancing their brilliant perspectives with structure and accountability.

When working with fiction writers, I draw from multiple structural approaches—including Story Grid, Story Path, Larry Brooks, the Snowflake Method, Save the Cat!, John Truby, Matt Bird, and non-traditional, non-Western writing structures.

Beyond writing and editing, I also offer workshops and coaching for writers. In this work, I help writers overcome blocks, enhance creativity, and transform raw material into polished, captivating pieces.

Above all, I am fascinated by the craft of refining a writer’s words so that they reach their readers as intended.
