Rachel Lapidow

Functions I’ve fulfilled have included everything from substantive developmental editing to copyediting according to house style to proofreading. I’ve done freelance work for DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Yen Press, Penguin Books, and Norton Books. It was while doing a job for one of these companies that I had an excuse to look up the plural of Pegasus (it’s Pegasi, in case you’re wondering). I was lucky enough to work on the official Stardew Valley: The Board Game. My work includes a number of tabletop RPGs for Biohazard Games, Festive Ninja Games, and Nine Dragons RPG. Of my work for Biohazard Games, founder Jeff Barber said, “Rachel has been a dream to work with—careful, diligent, and precise beyond professional. She absolutely made Upwind better. Can’t recommend her highly enough.”

I have a bachelor’s degree in professional writing from Champlain College. I have the Certificate in Specialized Copy Editing from the University of California, San Diego.  I am familiar with the Chicago Manual of Style, the Associated Press Stylebook, and American Psychological Association, but I would be happy to learn additional style guides. In fact, I have created style guides for independent companies.

I live in beautiful Vermont, so you may hear me talking a lot about the weather (it’s one of the major pastimes here). I read books from a lot of different genres; my love of cozy mysteries has led me to purchase the complete set of Murder, She Wrote DVDs.
