With my background in literature, creative writing, and teaching, I bring the heart of a writer and the mind of an English professor to your work.
Specializing in speculative fiction (science fiction and fantasy) and children’s fiction (picture books in rhyme or prose, middle grade/MG, and young adult/YA), for indie, self-publishing, and traditionally publishing writers. Progressive Christian fiction welcome! Please, no erotica, military SF, or horror/ dark paranormal work.
Literature and language have been my passion since childhood. I hold a BA in English Literature and Liberal Arts, an MA in English, an MA in Creative Writing, and a PhD (ABD)in English and Literary Theory. I also completed Simon Fraser University’s online Editing Certificate to polish my professional credentials, and I pursue ongoing professional development (because I’ll always be a student at heart 🙂 ).
Years of teaching, volunteer editing in numerous contexts, and writing and analysis of fiction have honed my instincts for writing that reaches the heart and mind of the reader—writing that is clear, powerful, and beautiful. Your writing, made its best self with my help.
