Stacey Zoller

Hey there, I’m Stacey. Thanks for stopping by my profile page! I am an independent copyeditor and proofreader located in St. Louis, Missouri. I love working with words, and I love helping people.

As I approach a client’s writing, my goal is to come alongside as a partner to make sure that project goes out to its audience in its best possible form. If you could use a teammate to help prepare your publications for the world, let’s talk!

My clients include a custom book publisher, an online international school preparing to launch its new curriculum, and multiple authors. I’ve copyedited or proofread manuscripts on topics from science and spirituality to domestic violence and biography. My experience includes traditional nonfiction books and expands to include cookbooks and picture books.

In addition to an English degree, I’ve earned a Copyediting Certificate from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and a Certificate in Editing from ACES/Poynter Institute. I value ongoing education as a way to continue to grow in my craft and regularly seek out professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on the evolving landscape of language and editing. I also have over fifteen years of experience in K-12 education, including time spent editing academic writing at the secondary, collegiate, and postgraduate levels.

I am comfortable working with these industry favorites:
• Microsoft Word with track changes
• Adobe Acrobat
• Google Drive/Docs/Sheets/Slides/Meet
• Slack
• The Chicago Manual of Style (CMOS)
• The Associated Press (AP) Stylebook
. . . and can work with whatever in-house style guide you may have.

You want your content to be the best representation of you, your ideas, and your organization, and I can help you achieve that!

Reach out to me through LinkedIn, and let’s talk about how we can work together to help your work go out into the world with clarity, accuracy, and style.
