Susan Weiner Editing

I am a development editor who works with faculty in the humanities and social sciences as they prepare manuscripts for publication with academic presses and journals, as well as apply for grants such as the Fulbright. I bring to this process my interdisciplinary background in contemporary French Studies (nine years on the Yale faculty) and a second career working with grant applicants (students and faculty) in all fields. As the author of an academic book and numerous articles, I understand the work that goes into your writing and rewriting. From the many successful Fulbright grantees in my portfolio, I know that every word counts, as does keeping front and center your all-important question: “so what?” My current clients are professors of anthropology, Religious Studies, and musicology, and I welcome new clients who teach in departments of history, Modern Languages and Literatures, sociology, and media studies.
