A Fine Line Editing

I’ve been professionally copyediting and proofreading for three years at a small US publisher, while backed by ten years of freelance writing experience. Topics have included memoirs from politicians, self help from a relationship expert, family history from a military couple, and even a Jewish action novel! Beside the manuscripts, I’ve also edited ebooks, website content, blog posts, annual reports, in-house company documents, and press releases.

Since discovering my love of editing, I’ve become a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) and the American Copy Editors Society (ACES) to keep up with the current editing views, needs, and styles. I’ve also been taking their courses to continue to improve my skills. I’m well versed in the Chicago Manual of Style, and I’m also working on improving my familiarity with AP style.

I enjoy finding the balance between the needs of creativity and clarity while enhancing your words and preserving your voice. Your ideas will flow and be concise and consistent.

I always keep these aspects in mind:
1. Respect
2. Kindness
3. Critical Thinking
4. Time Management
5. Diligence

I’ve been freelancing for about a decade now, which means that I know how to manage my time, maintain communication with clients, and deliver quality work according to the clients’ requirements. I appreciate that you’re looking for an editor to help get your manuscript to the next (or final) step, and so I’d love to demonstrate what it would be like to achieve your goals with ease by hiring a great editor to work alongside you.
