Valerie Haff

I have worked for over two decades as an editor and project manager in educational publishing and technology. I am driven by my passion for consistency, clarity, and accuracy. Maintaining focus on the end user brings motivation and quality to my work.

My editorial skills are specialized in the educational field, with expertise in the following areas:

  • formative and summative assessment materials for grades K–12, graduate studies, and adult certification courses (tests, passages, items, stimuli, accommodated materials, user guides and manuals)
  • curriculum for grades K–12 and adult education
  • course outlines, lesson plans, and text books
  • detailed technology and research documents
  • academic journals
  • dissertations and thesis papers
  • training and procedure documentation
  • grants and proposals
  • marketing materials (websites, brochures, fliers, catalogs, presentation materials)
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) student materials
  • museum exhibits and collateral

In addition to my educational industry experience, I support a broad range of freelance clients, such as independent authors, educational research companies, journal publishers, graduate students, and nonprofit organizations. I have edited and proofread cookbooks, anthologies, encyclopedias, training guides, museum exhibit materials, employee handbooks, company websites, fiction novels, and more.

Beyond editing, I have extensive experience in content development management and editorial project management. I have a strong background in managing content development, workshops, and trainings for state departments of education and educational consortiums. I have managed editors, graphic designers, accommodations developers, contractors, and vendors—assigning and reviewing work, providing feedback, conducting trainings, managing schedules, and developing processes.

I look forward to applying my editorial and project management expertise to new projects.
