Are you an expert in an area of editorial freelancing with a desire to share your knowledge with other EFA members? The EFA Publications Committee is now accepting proposals for 2020 EFA Booklet titles. The submission period for booklet proposals is open now and runs through February 15 only!
Editorial Freelancers Association Booklets are ePub and print books of approximately 5,000 –7,500 words highlighting a topic of interest to editorial freelance professionals. The booklets are supposed to be brief and to the point.
To submit a proposal for your booklet, potential authors must be active EFA members. Our current booklet catalogue includes both print and ebooks and can be found on our website’s Booklets page.
If you are interested in being an author of one of this year’s booklets, please contact the Publications Committee Chairperson, Robin Martin, at firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information:
- Up to 500 words explaining the value of and need for this booklet in the EFA 2020 publications catalogue. (The Hook)
- A rough outline of the contents, including a title and an estimate of total word count. EFA booklets are generally between 5,000 and 7,500 words. (The Book)
- Information highlighting the qualifications you bring as the expert to write this booklet, including a 75-word bio for the booklet’s cover. (The Cook
Only five titles will be chosen for the 2020 campaign, which will be published on the Ingram-Spark platform under the EFA Publications imprint. Each author may submit up to two titles for approval in this campaign. Acceptance of any proposal is not guaranteed. Booklet authors are paid a flat rate of $500 for their booklet.
