SF/Bay Area Chapter: Amy J. Schneider on The Chicago Guide to Copyediting Fiction [In Person]

May 8th @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm PDT Free

In an interview with Kristen Tate, veteran copyeditor Amy J. Schneider will tell the behind-the-scenes story of her new book, The Chicago Guide to Copyediting Fiction. We’ll hear how the book came about, why it’s a necessary companion to The Chicago Manual of Style, and what it’s like to be on the other side of the author–copyeditor relationship. There will be time for audience Q&A as well.

Join us at 5:30 pm for light appetizers and social time before the presentation at 6:00 pm, with more time for networking after the talk. We cannot wait to see your faces in person rather than in little Zoom squares! New members are especially encouraged to attend and will be warmly welcomed.

Please register through Eventbrite so we can have an accurate headcount: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/baef-and-sf-bay-area-efa-present-amy-j-schneider-tickets-560015109267

The Mechanics Institute follows San Francisco public health guidelines and does not currently have any masking policy in place. Masking is optional but appreciated.

This event, cohosted with our friends at the Bay Area Editors’ Forum, is free to members. It will not be offered virtually or recorded, but members unable to join us in person can choose to hear Amy’s keynote at the Northwest Editors Guild Red Pencil Conference on Saturday, May 6 through the conference’s virtual attendance option.
