EFA MI – May Meeting – Streamlining Projects

May 17th @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm EDT

MAY MEETING: HOW TO STREAMLINE PROJECTS FOR MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY

Every manuscript has its unique needs for the editorial process—but that doesn’t mean we as editors need to reinvent the wheel for every project’s workflow. In this short class, editor and business coach Amber Helt will walk you through how to take a step back from your business and create a standardized workflow for your services. Think of it like a beat sheet for your editing services.

From sales to project onboarding to editing checkpoints and final deliverables, we’ll discuss the critical checkpoints in the project workflow and how to adjust the
skeletal structure to accommodate the project’s unique needs while
creating dependable, predictable timetables.

Standardized workflows will allow you to take back control of your scheduling, better forecast your income, increase your project management capacity, and—most
importantly—decrease your active admin needs so your time at the desk
can focus on billable hours.
