Product Description

frey_theartoffeedback

Providing feedback is part of the editorial process, but it isn’t only about the dreaded red pencil. Clear, collaborative, and encouraging but honest feedback motivates writers and gives their revisions focus, resulting in better writing—and a stronger editor-client relationship, which often leads to future work and referrals. In this session we’ll explore techniques for improving feedback, whether you’re writing simple queries or urging a client to reconsider their structural approach to a longer narrative. We’ll also discuss how to tell if your style is effective, why listening is essential to good feedback, and what to do when clients come back with a challenge.

The webinar is free to all EFA members but attendance at the live session is limited to the first 225 registrants. All members will be able to download the recorded version of the webinar for free a few days after it airs.

Presenter Christina M. Frey, J.D. is co-executive of the Editorial Freelancers Association, a developmental/line editor and literary coach with Page Two Editorial (www.pagetwoeditorial.com), and a traditionally published graphic novelist. With over 20 years of experience in writing, editing, and publishing, she now works with select authors and small presses on full-length fiction and creative nonfiction. She specializes in helping both novice and experienced writers to develop and refine their authorial voice.
