All-Cal Joint Chapter Meeting

July 14th @ 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm PDT

Acclaimed crime writer Tod Goldberg will join the Los Angeles Area, OC, NorCal, and SFBay chapters for a presentation on Working with Editors from the author’s perspective. All unchaptered California members are encouraged to attend. All EFA members are welcome. Meeting is via Zoom. Register with EventBrite.

As freelance editors, we don’t often have a chance to see exactly how authors respond to our work. Tod Goldberg will take us behind the scenes of one of his published works, showing us the editorial markup for one section that underwent substantial revision and discussing his thought process and revision strategies. There will be a Q&A following the presentation.

Tod Goldberg is the New York Times bestselling author of over a dozen books, including The Low Desert (named Southwest Book of the Year), Gangsterland (a finalist for the Hammett Prize), Gangster Nation, The House of Secrets (which he co-authored with Brad Meltzer), Living Dead Girl (a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize), and the popular Burn Notice series, three times a finalist for the Scribe Award.

In addition to his work on the page, Tod is the cohost of the podcast Literary Disco and is a professor of creative writing at the University of California, Riverside where he founded and directs the Low Residency MFA Program in Creative Writing and Writing for the Performing Arts.
