North Texas Chapter: Content Services beyond Developmental Editing
October 22nd @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm CDT
A developmental edit is the most well-known content service, but there are other ways to service a manuscript’s content without doing a complete overhaul of its structure. As editors, we can enhance a manuscript’s impact on readers through various content-oriented editing and reviews. But what are these services? In this presentation, North Texas co-coordinator Richelle Braswell will go over a range of content services you can offer your clients to serve their individual needs and add variety to your service offerings. From evaluations to outline critiques to sensitivity reading and beyond, she’ll share the type of details to address in each service and where this service fits in the publication timeline. There will be a period for questions and shared experiences at the end.
Richelle Braswell is the co-coordinator of the EFA North Texas chapter and owner of Richelle Braswell Comprehensive Editing. She provides content, grammar, and consistency services for authors specializing in fantasy and cozy mystery.
