EFA Upper Hudson Chapter Meeting: To Err Is Human
To Err Is Human
Everyone makes mistakes. The challenge is how to handle those mistakes with humility and aplomb. Sometimes it’s mistake with a job bid, sometimes it’s a mistake with timing, and sometimes it’s just a big editorial blunder. Terese Platten, co-leader of the Upper Hudson EFA chapter, will lead a discussion on owning your mistakes, discerning whether a mistake is fixable, devising plans of action, and confidently discussing mistakes with clients. Meeting attendees are asked to bring their own stories, which might be used as case studies in the group discussion, so attendees are also required to bring their sense of humor.
Terese Platten is a freelance editor with more that 25 years of mistakes under her belt. She edits nonfiction subjects, including engineering, medical arts, and political science, which all lend themselves to major opportunities for making mistakes.
