North Texas Chapter: Inside the Modern Editor’s Toolkit: ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity
Want to edit faster, better, and more accurately? Then join us for this practical, hands-on exploration of AI and learn three tools that will revolutionize your editorial workflow.
- ChatGPT: Your editorial Swiss Army knife. ChatGPT has the broadest range of editing capabilities.
- Claude: Your everyday editorial assistant. Claude is a conversational and easy-to-use option for revision and analysis.
- Perplexity: Your lightning-fast research librarian. Perplexity acts as a custom encyclopedia and gathers high-quality sources for fact-checking.
We’ll cover capabilities, examples, and best uses for each tool. And you’ll leave equipped with the AI know-how to transform the way you edit.
This meeting will be held Saturday, February 17 at 2 p.m. CT via Zoom. Click the link below to RSVP so we know how many people to expect.
For a general introduction of AI, check out the EFA Michigan chapter’s presentation AI for Editors on February 16. They ask attendees to RSVP using Eventbrite.
Both meetings are presented by Erin Servais. She is an editor, educator, and coach. Erin serves on the board of directors for ACES: The Society for Editing, teaches copyediting for the University of California, San Diego, and is the founder of the Editors Tea Club. She has presented about editing, entrepreneurship, and Artificial Intelligence for the Professional Editors Network, the Editorial Freelancers Association, Editors Canada, the Northwest Editors Guild, and ACES, and she has been a guest lecturer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Journalism and Media. Erin’s main focus is training editors to upskill using Artificial Intelligence. She teaches the AI for Editors course and blogs about AI editing tips at AIforEditors.com.
