Los Angeles Area February chapter meeting
The Los Angeles Area chapter will be holding its first meeting of 2024 on Zoom, February 20 at 5:00 pm Pacific Time. The presenter will be Suzy Bills, and she will be discussing pricing. Many freelance editors struggle when deciding how much to charge and what pricing method to use. How do you know what the going rates are? What if a potential client thinks your prices are too high? What if you underestimate the time required to complete a project and therefore will need to ask the client for more money or will earn less than you planned on? This session will answer these and other questions about pricing so that you can feel confident when presenting your rates, increase your earnings, and overcome price objections.
Suzy Bills is an editor, an author, and a faculty member in the editing and publishing program at Brigham Young University. She loves sharing her skills with others, whether through teaching, coaching freelancers, helping authors get their thoughts on paper, or fine-tuning their writing. Her book The Freelance Editor’s Handbook was published in 2021 by the University of California Press.
